Finder slideshow cool but backwards

Just stumbled across the Finder slideshow feature, where you
can select multiple image files (e.g. JPGs) and right-click
to select a slideshow. Cool. Trouble is, it displays the
images in reverse order, i.e. newest (highest numbered) images
first.

Is just the way it is, or is there a way to reverse the
display order? Changing the order in the Finder list
view (by clicking on Name or Date Modified columns) does
not have any effect on the slideshow display order.

Does the order in which you select the files make a difference? Select
the first then shift-select the last (or vice versa) and see what
happens.

I'm sure it doesn't do that here but I'm not in a position to check.

Lowest to highest here - even if you reverse sort the names in list
view.

It doesn't sort them by date does it?

...

Doesn't seem to sort by anything other than file name.
